Team Izzi was joined by Wu Yee Children’s Services and Kai Ming Head Start in a group of around 300 total Head Start staff and educators marching around the State Capitol for Head Start Advocacy Day. Our group also met with the offices of Senator Josh Becker and Assemblymember Diane Papan to raise awareness on the impact of Head Start.

This year’s theme, “Make Your Mark” encouraged each participant to leave a lasting, positive impact on the communities they serve. Hear the reflections from our Izzi staff who went to this event!

Claudia Montepeque has been a dedicated, invaluable staff member, taking on various roles to support the children, families, and staff that came through IHSD/Izzi.

Long-time Teacher Tobi has taught at Izzi Early Education (formerly IHSD) for over 25 years. In that time, she’s continued to stay connected with former Head Start student Lindsey from her first year teaching.

Our Bay Area is lucky to have such a vibrant Filipino community. To celebrate National Filipino Heritage Month, we asked our Filipino Izzi staff to share their favorite cultural foods and where we can maybe find them in the Bay Area.
